PurrPaws shelter house burns down

The PurrPaws for life shelter house – known for taking in abandoned, abused or neglected animals, has burnt down leaving over 30 dogs killed.

Cecilia from Purrpaws says the whole house is ruined with all their possessions in it.

During this unfortunate event, PAWS – Potch Animal Welfare Society were able to rescue over 50 animals.

So far more than 200 animals have been placed in foster care but more dogs and cats are desperately in need of a loving home.

The biggest needs at the moment are water and food. Any donations would be appreciated.

They make use of a borehole at Purrpaws, and while there’s power at the front of the property, the cables to the pump seems to have burned out. They need electrical assistance urgently. If there are any electricians or electrical supply companies that can assist, please do. They need to give the animals water.

Once the immediate crisis is handled, they will need to rebuild. Any building materials whatsoever is welcome. Please coordinate with Marin, Lindie, Chanel or Cecelia regarding the rebuilding.

The following can also be done to help:

1. If you can donate water, large volumes, take it through to Purrpaws.
2. If you want to donate financially, please see their bank details below
3. If you can donate dog or cat food, drop it off at the Charity Shop at 29 Christiaan De Wet St, Vanderbijlpark S. E. 1
