The battle of English and Mathematics puzzle has everyone wondering what the right answer is.
This image has been doing the rounds on Social Media and has everyone participating.
Let’s have a look at the question:
1 rabbit saw 6 elephants while going to the river. (So here we know that the rabbit is on its way to the river BUT the sentence does not state that the elephants are on their way to the river too.)
Every elephants saw 2 monkeys going towards the river. (So now we know that the elephants are not on their way to the river. This sentence tells us that 2 monkeys are going to the river. It does not state that the 6 elephants saw 2 monkeys each).
Every monkey holds 1 parrot in their hands. (Now we know that 2 monkeys are on their way to the river and they are carrying a parrot each which gives us 2 parrots. So in actual fact, these two parrots are on their way to the river too.)
Now, how many animals are going toward the river?
The answer is 5 animals are going towards the river.
And while some of us were focused on the animals others noticed the spelling error on the image: Funny way of spelling school… isn’t it?
